Hunter Aerial Photography Services recently completed an aerial mapping project for two of the major industrial precincts in Newcastle using an innovative camera / sensor system that can be installed on Cessna 100 series aircraft and removed on a project by project basis without the need for a traditional camera aperture in the bottom of the aircraft.
Since initial development of the CASA Certified system in 2015, we have further enhanced the capability to enable dual portable camera pods to be carried by the same piloted aircraft enabling different sensors to be used including normal RGB and vegetation mapping sensor (Near Infrared).
For a range of industries and commercial sectors including mining, road and rail engineering, coastal and port infrastructure, local government and agriculture enterprises, the system we have developed delivers a safe, quality and cost-effective solution for medium to large scale mapping projects.
Key project data for the Newcastle operation has included: –

Key outputs have included an Orthomosaic, digital surface model, digital terrain model, contours and point cloud models – survey ground control has been incorporated into post processed results.
